About THE AUTHOR – KELLY LEE

Growing up, you would always find me with my nose stuck in a book. And now, my favourite thing to do is read with my kids.

I write picture books full of humour and heart. And if I can subtly weave in a curriculum connection, then that makes my teacher heart happy.

My debut picture book, Nobody Likes Monday, comes out in August 2024 with EK Books.

I am a Children’s Book Academy Graduate, SCBWI Member, 2022 PB Party Finalist, 2021 #PitchMe Finalist  and member of 2 critique groups.

As a teacher and Educational Curriculum Designer, I create lessons and resources for 1st, 2nd and 3rd grade teachers around the world.
I live close to the bush in Australia and can see kangaroos over my back fence.

Picture Book Critique Services

Kelly’s critiques are always so thoughtful, thorough, and encouraging–10/10! I especially love the read-aloud combo. Not only does it help me gain a new perspective on the story, but having the manuscript read in an Aussie accent is just fabulous!

Jessica Watts

I was delighted to win a picture book critique and audio read through from Kelly through #PBParty. Kelly’s written feedback was thoughtful and encouraging, with a great balance of actionable-insights and warm support. I was initially intimidated by the idea of an audio recording, but it was an incredibly positive experience! Kelly’s narration brought my story to life in a whole new way. Kelly’s critique set me up for success, and I highly recommend her.

Katie McEnaney

I have truly benefited from Kelly’s skillful awareness of writing technique and ability to effectively communicate with children. She has a knack for knowing how to tweak the words to best capture the reader.
